= cheppu – Verb in base form / imperative
Say/Tell
= cheppandi (Imperative with respect/plural)
Don’t say/tell
= cheppavaddhu or cheppaku
Simple Past Tense – Positive Sentences
e.g. I said/told. = Naenu cheppaanu.
He said/told. = Athadu cheppaadu
You said/told. (Plural) = Meeru
cheppaaru.
They said/told = Vaaru cheppaaru
You said/told. (Singular) = Nuvvu
cheppaavu.
She said/told = Aame cheppindhi.
We said/told = Maemu / Manamu cheppaamu.
Uncle said/told
= Maamayya cheppaadu.
Simple Past Tense - Negative
e.g. I didn’t say/tell. = Naenu cheppalaedhu.
Cheppu + laedhu = cheppalaedhu
You didn’t say/tell. (Singular) = Nuvvu cheppalaedhu
You didn’t say/tell. (Plural) = Meeru cheppalaedhu
He didn’t say/tell. = Athadu
cheppalaedhu.
She didn’t say/tell. = Aame cheppalaedhu.
We didn’t say/tell. = Manamu / maemu
cheppalaedhu.
Younger brother didn’t say/tell. =
Thammudu cheppalaedhu.
Simple Present/Simple Future Tense - Positive
e.g. I say/tell or I will say/tell. =
Naenu chebuthaanu.
Cheppu => drop “ppu” ending and add
“buthaanu” ending

Maemu/Manamu chebuthaamu

(Singular) = Nuvvu chebuthaavu

Athadu chebuthaadu
