The Compound Verb “వచ్చు” (Vacchu) in Telugu

 In this lesson, you will learn about another compound verb vacchu(వచ్చు). The meaning of vacchu(వచ్చు) is ‘come’ in English. However, when it is used as a compound verb, the sense of action is different.

Here is an example:

·         Raamu Cinema choosivacchaadu. (రాము సినిమా చూసి వచ్చాడు) – Ramu returned from a movie.

In the above sentence, there are two actions with the use of a compound verb. The first action is seeing a movie, and the second action is he returned home.

·         Raamu Cinema chooshaadu(రాము సినిమా చూశాడు) – Ramu saw a movie.

In the above sentence, the verb just indicates the action of seeing a movie. 

Here are some other verbs along with the use of ‘vacchu’ (వచ్చు):

·         Thinu(తిను) – to eat – thinivacchu(తినివచ్చు) – to return after finishing eating

·         Thraagu(త్రాగు) – to drink – thraagivacchu(త్రాగివచ్చు) – to return after finishing drinking

·         Vellu(వెళ్లు) – to go – vellivacchu/ vellocchu(వెళ్ళివచ్చు/వెళ్ళొచ్చు) – to return after visiting a place

·         Maatlaadu(మాట్లాడు) – to speak – matlaadivacchu(మాట్లాడివచ్చు) – to return after finishingspeaking

You can add vacchu(వచ్చు) to any verb to change its sense as above
