Negative Word – ‘raadhu’ (రాదు)” – English to Telugu Lesson

In general sense, ‘raadhu’ (రాదు) (does not come) is used as an opposition word to vasthundhi(వస్తుంది) (come).

Examples:

·         Eerailusamayanikivasthundhaa? (ఈ రైలు సమయానికి వస్తుందా) - Does this train arrive on time?

·         Raadhu(రాదు) – No/does not.

·         Aameippuduikkadikivasthundhaa? (ఆమె ఇప్పుడు ఇక్కడికి వస్తుందా) - Does she come here now?

·         Raadhu(రాదు) – No/does not.

But,raadhu is used as an opposite word to vasthudhi(come) when the subject is in the third person singular and that too only for ‘she’ and ‘it.’

If the subject is ‘he’, then we have to say ‘Raadu’ (రాడు).

For the first and second person singular and plurals, and third-person plural, it is as follows:

First-person singular – raanu(రాను). For example: I don’t come. = నేను రాను. (Naenuraanu.)

First-person plural – raamu(రాము). We don’t come. = మేము రాము. (Maemuraamu.)

Second-person singular – raavu(రావు). You don’t come. = నువ్వు రావు. (Nuvvuraavu.)

Second-person plural and third-person plural – raaru(రారు). You don’t come. = మీరు రారు. (Meeruraaru.); They don’t come. = వారు రారు. (Vaaruraaru.)

Some more examples:

·         Nenuakkadikiraanu. (నేను అక్కడికి రాను) (I don’t come there.)

·         Nuvvu maa imtikiraavu. (నువ్వు మా ఇంటికి రావు) (You don’t come to my home.)

·         Maemucollejeekiraamu. (మేము కాలేజీకి రాము) (We don’t come to college.)

·         Meerutotakiraaru. (మీరు తోటకి రారు) (You don’t come to the garden.)

·         Vaarumarketkiraaru. (వారు మార్కెట్ కి రారు) (They don’t come to the market.)
