How to make interrogative sentences such as “Did you go?”, “Did youread?”, “Did youcome?” in Telugu – Second Person Plural / Second Person Singular with respect

In Telugu all the verbs in base form end with 'వు' (u) sound.By changing the end sound of the verb and by using the below given sentence structure you can make many sentences easily. For example, observe the following sentence structure:

Did you + (Verb in Base Form) + (Object)? = Meeru+ (Object) + (Write the Telugu verb in base form and change the end sound 'వు' (u) to 'ఆ' (aa) and add 'రా' (raa) sound at the end.

Example sentence: Did you bring books? = మీరు పుస్తకాలు తెచ్చారా? (Meerupusthakaaluthechaaraa?)

Bring means తెచ్చు (thecchu). It is the base form of the verb. As mentioned above, we changed the end sound 'వు' (u) to 'ఆ' (aa) and added the second person plural personal interrogative suffix 'రా' (raa). The same personal interrogative suffix can be used to the second person singular also to show respect.

So, తెచ్చు (thecchu) became తెచ్చారా? (thechaaraa?)

Below are the examples sentences made using the above structure:

1.   Did you listen to that song? = మీరు ఆ పాట విన్నారా? (Meeru aa paatavinnaaraa?)

2.   Did you go there? = మీరు అక్కడికి వెళ్ళారా? (Meeruakkadikivellaaraa?)

3.   Did you speak with him? = మీరు అతడితో మాట్లాడారా? (Meeruathadithomaatlaadaaraa?)

4.   Did you stand at the gate? = మీరు గేట్ దగ్గుర నిలబడ్డారా? (Meeru gate dhaggaranilabaddaaraa?)

5.   Did you sing a song? = మీరు పాట పాడారా? (Meerupaatapaadaaraa?)

6.   Did you keep a plate there? = మీరు అక్కడ పళ్ళెం పెట్టారా? (Meeruakkadapallempettaaraa?)

7.   Did you read that book? = మీరు ఆ పుస్తకం చదివారా? (Meeru aa pusthakamchadhivaaraa?)

8.   Did you buy a dress for me? = మీరు నా కోసం ఒక డ్రెస్ కొన్నారా? (Meerunaakosamoka dress konnaaraa?)

9.   Did you drink this coffee? = మీరు ఈ కాఫీ త్రాగారా? (Meeruee coffee thraagaaraa?)

10.  Did you send the letter to her? = మీరు ఆమెకు ఉత్తరం పంపించారా / పంపారా? (Meeruaamekuvuttharapampinchaaraa/ pampaaraa?)

11.  Did you talk to him? = మీరు అతడితో మాట్లాడారా? (Meeruathadithomaatlaadaaraa?)

12.  Did you give money to him? = మీరు అతడికి డబ్బులు ఇచ్చారా? (Meeruathadikidabbuluicchaaraa?)

13.  Did you cry for him? = మీరు అతడి కోసం ఏడ్చారా? (Meeruathadikosamaedchaaraa?)

14.  Did you walk today? = మీరు ఈరోజు నడిచారా? (Meerueerojunadichaaraa?)

15.  Did you call me? = మీరు నన్ను పిలిచారా? (Meerunannupilichaaraa?)

16.  Did you win that match? = మీరు ఆ మ్యాచ్ గెలిచారా? (Meeru aa match gilichaaraa?)

17.  Did you take a book from them? = మీరు వారి దగ్గర నుండి పుస్తకం తీసుకున్నారా? (Meeruvaaridhaggaranundipusthakamtheesukunnaaraa?)

18.  Did you sleep last night? = మీరు గత రాత్రి నిద్రపోయారా? (Meerugatharaathrinidhrapoyaaraa?)

19.  Did you meet him? = మీరు అతడిని కలిసారా? (Meeruathadinikalisaaraa?)

20.  Did you do that work? = మీరు ఆ పని చేసారా? (Meeru aa panichaesaaraa?)

21.  Did you see her? = మీరు ఆమెను చూసారా? (Meeruaamenuchoosaaraa?)

22.  Did you pour milk in the pot? = మీరు పాత్రలో పాలు పోసారా? (Meerupaathralopaaluposaaraa?)

23.  Did you write homework? = మీరు హోమ్ వర్క్ వ్రాసారా? (Meeru homework vraasaaraa?)

24.  Did you put onion in this? = మీరు ఇందులో ఉల్లిపాయ వేసారా? (Meeruindhulovullipaayavaesaaraa?)

25.  Did you wash your clothes? = మీరు బట్టలు ఉతికారా? (Meerubattaluvuthikaaraa?)
